Grow Chair update

Our chair has hair!
We have been attempting to reduce, reuse and recycle as much as we can with this project. We brought in regular grass seed and soil we already had on hand. The attempt to grow a chia chair has been somewhat successful so far. The seat of the chair has a thick covering, however, the sides of the chair never sprouted. We think this may because the seat has a garbage bag liner underneath to retain the moisture. The sides dried up pretty much without that.
Last week a liner was attached to the back, and alfalfa sprouts planted along the inside. We also added some wheat grass as filler.
If this works, we can start adding more decorative objects, but for now we just need it to GROW. I’ll admit it is not so much improved as much as altered at this point, but it will look better much soon. The alfalfa grew amazingly fast and was so strong it actually pushed the soil away from the sides causing a collapse!
Remarkably, half the people who come in the office don’t notice the chair that is growing on their left by the window. Hmm, we might do some interesting psycholgy studies in the future.
