Brown Printing has gone green!

picture-48We love Brown Printing and use them for quite a bit of our client’s printing, and even more tellingly, for our own print needs.  They have recently made some exciting changes to their business. In the prepress department and in the press room, they’ve deployed technologies designed to reduce waste, eliminate toxic chemicals, and save time. Also, in the first quarter of 2009 they’ll become an FSC certified service provider. Now when your project is printed with Brown, you can be confident that the high-quality work you’ve come to expect is produced with the most eco-friendly methods possible.

In their words:

If you’re wondering why we invest in this kind of technology at a time when other shops are taking a “wait-and-see” approach, the answer is simple:
We value the environment, and we believe print should be produced using as few toxins and as little waste as possible. Of course, improvements always have
an impact on the bottom line, and this time is no exception, but in a different way than you might expect—more efficiency, less waste and increased
capacity have not only reduced our ecological footprint, they’ve made our pricing more competitive than ever.

We have just tried out their new digital presses and FSC papers for our own new promotional package, and were very pleased with the results. If you are doing a short run, especially with 4 color, the digital press may be a great alternative to try!
