Brand monitoring?

It should be obvious by now — but it bears repeating — that the days when you created and controlled (barring some twist of fate) 99% of your company’s image are long gone.

In this day and age if you have a strong brand then it is being talked about and “enhanced” by lots of people on blogs, in forums, on Facebook… everywhere in fact.

If you’d like to participate in this process of  “enhancement” then you’d better have your ear to the ground and know what people are saying about you.

Most of this is overkill for smaller companies but the suggestion regarding google alerts is applicable to nearly everyone.  Isn’t it cool… you can “google yourself” automatically and have the results emailed to you daily.   Think of it as outsourced narcissism.
